Kilshannig extended their lead at the top of the Division 1 Football League with a deserved win over Grange at Grange on Friday evening. Kilshannig were full value for their victory but were troubled at times by the gallant home side. While Kilshannig surged 1-10 to 0-4 ahead at the break, Grange fought back to within three points with 1-3 without reply after the the interval. However, Kilshannig resumed control with points from Tadhg O'Sullivan, Frank McCarthy and Conor Casey helping them to their fifth successive league win. The opening period saw Kilshannig on top with a number of fine displays with Casey, Ian Twomey and Dylan O'Callaghan moving forward from defence to split the posts. Tadhg Twomey and Richie Ryan added a number of excellent points from midfield while a Frank McCarthy goal put further daylight between the teams. Grange briefly threatened a comeback after the break but as Kilshannig settled once again, there was only going to be one winner as they ran out comfortable nine point victors. 

Kilshannig fell to a disappointing defeat to Kildorrery in the Division 3 Hurling League at Glantane last Saturday. Kilshannig were well in the contest at half time trailing by 1-7 to 0-6. However, despite the best efforts of Colin Twomey, Damien Murphy and Roddy O'Mahony, Kildorrery proved far too strong with two early second half goals paving the way for a comfortable win.
