Kilshannig 0-15 Kildorrery 0-07

Kilshannig captured the North Cork Junior B Football Championship title with a convincing replay victory over Kildorrery at Doneraile on Wednesday evening last. Kilshannig recovered from a six point deficit in the drawn game to force a replay but on this occasion Kilshannig ran out comfortable winners with a commanding performance all through especially in the opening period when they completely dominated proceedings. Kilshannig got off to a great start with Kieran O'Donovan, Colin Twomey and Joseph Cronin excellent in defence while Bryan Sheehan, Pa Cronin and Patrick O'Callaghan were in fine form in attack. The Glantane outfit dominated possession and they made good use of their dominance in front of goal with Joseph Cronin, Sheehan, Ian O'Donoghue and Damien Murphy all on target to open up a 0-5 to no score lead by the 10^th minute. Kildorrery needed a quick response but Kilshannig remained in total control with a further five unanswered points through Sheehan, Murphy and Niall O'Callaghan doubling their advantage, 0-10 to 0-0. Kildorrery finally managed to open their account in the closing minutes of the half with three quick points but they were left with a huge task at the interval with Kilshannig holding a 0-11 to 0-3 lead. While Kildorrery tried hard after the restart to to narrow the deficit, Kilshannig in general were never troubled. Both sides traded points with Pa Cronin and the impressive Ian O'Donoghue on target as Kilshannig remained eight in front, 0-14 to 0-6. Entering the closing stages, the result was in little doubt and despite Kildorrery pressing hard, Kilshannig held firm in defence. Cronin added his second late on to put the finishing touches on a fine victory as Kilshannig lifted the title for the first time since 2010.
