Thomas Russells' (Blue) U12 footballers opened the 2014 Rebel Og North Leagu campaign against Mitchelstown in Glantane on Sunday. It was a hard fought game all over the pitch with Thomas Russells coming out on top with a scoreline of  3-11 to 1-07.

Jamie Butler was very solid  between the posts supported in defence by Josh Radford, Jack McCarthy, Mark Barry, Adam Savage, Cillian O’Connell and Ciaran O’Sullivan. In Midfield were Glen Singleton and Ethan Twomey who linked up with great effect with forwards David Cogan, Bill O’Riordan, David O’Leary, Robert Dunne, Stephen O’Donoghue, Jack Hourigan and Arnaud Dumoulim. It was a great start to the year and we look forward to completing strongly in the league.

On Sunday last Thomas Russells (Gold) U12 Footballers played our neighbours Clyda Rovers in Mourneabbey. This was our first football game of the year and it was a great game of football between two good teams. Clyda Rovers played with the wind in the first half and led 3-4 to 2-0 at half time with Thomas Russells' goals coming from Sean Ring and Alan O'Sullivan. On the changeover Thomas Russells upped their game playing some great spells of football. Aidan O'Mahony, Sean O'Riordan and Ben Creedon scored second half goals but Thomas Russells were unlucky in the end to lose by a point, 4-5 to 5-1.
