U16 Hurlers Reach County Final

Well done to our U16 hurlers who qualified for the County U16 A Hurling Championship Final after a superb 3-9 to 1-10 semi final win over Cloughduv at Ovens last Saturday. Despite playing with the aid of the breeze in the opening half, Kilshannig struggled at that stages and while Eanna O'Hanlon found the net, it was the Mid Cork side who let 1-6 to 1-3 at the break. Kilshannig produced an excellent second half display however with goals from Kieran Twomey and Conor McMahon helping Kilshannig to a five point win. We now face Sam Maguires in the final this Friday night, 12th August in Ovens with a 7.15pm throw in. Best of luck to both players and management and we would really appreciate your support on the night.

Division 3 Hurling League

Kilshannig secured a well deserved 6-8 to 1-14 win over Ballygiblin in their Division 3 Hurling League semi final at Castletownroche on Sunday evening. Kilshannig held a 3-2 to 1-4 lead at the break thanks to goals from Conor Sexton, Cian Nagle and Frank McCarthy. While Ballygiblin narrowed the deficit to two on a number of occasions in the second half, Kilshannig finished strongly as they continued their goal scoring spree with substitute Dylan O'Callaghan (2) and John Quinn adding goals to set up a league final meeting with Killavullen.
