Kilshannig 1-13 Killavullen 0-06

Kilshannig got their first Division 1 Football League win of the campaign with a deserved victory over Killavullen in Killavullen on Thursday last, St.Patrick's Day. Following an opening round draw with Buttevant and a defeat to Buttevant, Kilshannig made no mistake at the third attempt with a hard working away victory. The opening half was an even contest with the home side leading 0-4 to 0-3 after ten minutes, John Quinn and the lively Jack Kearney keeping Kilshannig in touch. Kilshannig though would move into the lead by the half time break with three consecutive points edging them 0-6 to 0-4 in front. Kilshannig moved further ahead after the interval and while they began to dominate there was just two between the sides entering the final quarter, 0-8 to 0-6. However, with Roddy O'Mahony, Pa Cronin and Tadhg O'Sullivan impressing around midfield, Kilshannig managed to extend their advantage. O'Sullivan, Cronin and Dylan O'Callaghan all had points late on before Kearney completed a fine performance with a well taken goal five minutes from time.

Kilshannig 3-09 Kilworth 0-04

Kilshannig followed up their victory over Killavullen on Thursday with a comfortable win over Kilworth in their Division 1 Football League meeting in Kilworth on Saturday evening. Kilshannig were on top from the beginning throughout the field with Killian O'Hanlon, Alan O'Connell and John Quinn hugely impressive. Quinn and Killian O'Hanlon got early points before O'Connell netted the opening goal of the afternoon on 10 minutes finishing from close range after fielding a long delivery. It got even better for the visitors shortly after, this time Quinn firing to the roof of the net. Further points from Tadhg O'Sullivan and Michael Twomey ensured Kilshannig were well in control at the break, 2-5 to no score. Kilworth finally opening their account within minutes of the restart with two consecutive points but Kilshannig quickly ended any hopes of a comeback. Quinn struck for his second goal after a fine team move and with Kilshannig comfortably ahead at this stage, they eased to victory with O'Connell and Dylan O'Callaghan adding to their sides' tally.

Kilshannig 4-21 Doneraile 1-05

Kilshannig cruised to victory over Doneraile in the opening round of the Division 3 Football League in Glantane on Sunday afternoon. It was one way traffic right from start to finish with four first half goals from the home side ensuring the contest was well over by half time. Eric Browne, Diarmuid O'Sullvan, Davy Cronin and John Quinn all hit the net while Kilshannig had a number of excellent points also through Roddy O'Mahony, Denis Clogan and Pa Cronin. Doneraile managed a goal of their own but it was of little significance with Kilshannig completely in control at the break, 4-14 to 1-02. As expected, with the victory secured Kilshannig eased off somewhat in the second period. Doneraile had a number of well taken points but Kilshannig romped to victory with substitutes Jack Kearney and Alan O'Connell amongst the second half scorers.
