Junior B Hurling

Kilshannig 3-24 Ballyhooly 1-07

Kilshannig secured their first win of the Division 3 Hurling League with an easy victory over Ballyhooly at Glantane on Saturday evening last. In a one sided encounter Kilshannig dominated all through with a number of accomplished displays throughout the field. Kilshannig struck some fine points in the opening period with Colin Twomey, Roddy O'Mahony and Denis Clogan on target while John Quinn hit the back of the net. Ballyhooly responded with a goal of their own but Kilshannig remained well in control at the break, 1-15 to 1-04. Kilshannig ended any remaining hopes for the visitors with Kevin O'Flynn in fine form in front of the posts, firing two goals in as many minutes. It was comfortable for Kilshannig from then to the final whistle as Quinn, Peter McSweeney and Denis McCarthy all added late scores to seal a comprehensive victory.

Minor Hurling

Kilshannig 2-13 Ballyhea 0-14

Our minor hurlers travelled to play Ballyhea in the Rebel Og North Minor B Hurling League on Thursday last and emerged with a five point victory following a very entertaining game. The sides were level at the interval 1-03 to 0-06, Diarmuid O'Sullivan being our scorer in chief. Brian Guerin and Joe Cronin were dominant in defence while Darragh O'Sullivan was also very impressive at corner back.
From the restart, our boys took to the task in hand with Jack Kearney doing well at wing back and Jack Twomey creating great chances in the forward line. A Tony Brennan goal put us 5 ahead but Ballyhea to their credit reeled off a string of points to go one ahead. However,Kilshannig were to finish stronger with points from Kevin O'Flynn, Diarmuid O'Sullivan, Tony Brennan and the Twomey brothers, Jack and Kieran to maintain our 100% record.
