North Cork Final This Sunday

Kilshannig take on Ballyclough this Sunday, 7th September in Buttevant at 6.30pm in what is expected to be an intriguing North Cork Junior A Football Championship Final. Sunday evening will be the fourth time in three years that the sides have met in championship and like the three previous meetings, a close encounter is expected once again. In 2012, the sides were pitted in the quarter final stages with Ballyclough running out 2-05 to 0-09 victors. A year later, they faced off once more in the quarter final and on this occasion, Kilshannig triumphed 3-09 to 2-10 thanks to a last minute penalty. The most recent meeting between the two finalists took place in May this year with Kilshannig advancing to the knockout stages with a 3-08 to 1-12 win. Since then both sides have progressed to the final and the teams will battle for outright divisional honours on Sunday. This is a huge game for the club as we go in search of our first North Cork title since 1996 and we wish best of luck to all players and managemnt.
